The Department of Paediatrics consists of highly qualified and expert Paediatricians who strive to improve the health and wellbeing of children.

Our Emphasis is to provide the most sophisticated modern medical care to our tiny-tots, children and Adolescents.

We have Specialities like Paediatric Nephrology, Paediatric Cardiology and Paediatric Endocrinology along with Paediatric Surgery.

Out Patient Department:

Our Out-patient Department provides follow–up care for Infants in OPD basis which include premature and term infants who were admitted in the Neonatal Unit, Routine Baby Checks, feeding advice including Breastfeeding and complementary feeding by lactation consultants.

In addition to the above our OPD manages Infectious diseases of children that we fight every day. 

We Provide Point of care Vaccination for the children along with the growth and development monitoring. Adolescent Health care is as important as for your tiny buds which is also taken care by our efficient and competent doctors. 

 

 

Nursery 

Perinatal and neonatal care is very important as for the growth and well being of your child. Our Nursery is equipped with trained and skilled staff who play a critical role in care of newborns at all levels, frombeing skilled attendants at Birth, to initiate breast feeding, from daily weight monitoring to give phototherapy and make baby and mother fit to go home. 

We have dedicated doctors and Nursing staff   round the clock delivering the services by ensuring continuous nursing coverage with essential newborn care including initial vaccination. 

To continue appraisal of the newborn throughout his hospital stay, we 

  • Observe and record the infant’s Vital Signs 
  • Monitor weight loss or gain 
  • Monitor Bowel and Bladder Functions 
  • Monitor activity and sleep patterns 
  • Monitor Interactions and bonding with parents 
  • To provide safeguards against infections .(hand Hygiene )
  • To provide guidance and instructions to parents 


 

Inpatient:

Our Paediatric ward consists of 22 bedded ward including single rooms, twin sharing and General ward.

We have full equipped inpatient care with isolation facility aimed at providing the most modern medical care for your child. Our Impatient rooms are embedded with wall inlet source of oxygen, along with blending and suction facilities. Your baby’s hospital stay is taken care by dedicated and trained staff. 

 

NICU 

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Holy Spirit Hospital consists of 12 beds along with 3 ventilators. We have facilities for advanced neonatal open care warmers with advanced neonatal ventilation. The ICU unit caters to all Inborn/out born-Preterm/IUGR (Intra Uterine Growth Retardation)/MAS (Meconium Aspiration Syndrome)/ Sepsis/Infection/HIE (Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy)/Surgical babies. Our Doctors & nurses who work in the NICU have extensive experience, expertise, and knowledge to quickly assess and treat the neonates so that they can achieve the best outcomes possible.

All babies are precious whether as they are born normally or by ART (Assisted reproductive technique). Neonatology is a highly specialized branch of Medicine that deals with the care of normal new-borns as well as those born premature or babies.

Advances in the field of Neonatology have made possible survival of babies even at 28 weeks (6 1/2 months), and also babies with birth weight as low as 700 Gms in the level III NICU that we have in our Hospital.

 


Ventilator Capability 

  • Non invasive nasopharyngeal ventilation
  • Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP)
  • O2 therapy using nasal canola

Monitoring capabilities

  • Multiple parameter monitoring – continuously monitoring newborn O2 saturation, Heart rate and blood pressure
  • Pulse oximeter for each baby providing continuous monitoring
  • HGT monitoring

 

PICU 

Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at HSH is a unit consisting of 6 beds and ventilator facility offering highly specialized care to critically ill children. Equipped with the state of the art facilities and highly specialized staff, the PICU offers the highest level of intensive medical care for children.

The Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is a multidisciplinary unit, equipped with advanced technology and provides personalized care for infants, children and adolescents who become critically ill or injured.
