The Holy Spirit Institute of Nursing Education (H.S.I.N.E.) is headed by the missionary Sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit, under the charitable trust “Society of the servants of the Holy Spirit”. Right from its inception in the year 1997, H.S.I.N.E., has been functioning with the commitment of offering balanced comprehensive clinical skills and nursing education.

The institute aims at promoting an all round development of the students with special attention to be intellectually enlightened, socially committed, emotionally balanced, and spiritually inspired to be morally upright nurses, able to contribute their maximum for uplifting the society and be effective agents of change for the better, in the present fast changing society.

Initially, the institute came into existence as School of Nursing and it was upgraded as college of Nursing from the year 2005.

Eligibility for Admission

All the admissions are provisional till the eligibility is approved by the university, subject to change according to the regulations of the Indian Nursing Council (I.N.C.), Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (M.U.H.S.) and the State Nursing Council of Maharashtra, Mumbai

Diploma Course

A candidate seeking admission to this course:

• Should have passed the two-year pre-university examination or its equivalent, and have scored not less than 40% of marks in the optional subjects.
• Should be single and female, and of good health and good moral character.
• Should have completed 17 years of age. The upper age limit is 35 years.
• Application and the prospectus will be issued in the college office in the month of May.
• Course commences: 1st August every year.

Undergraduate Degree Courses:

A candidate seeking admission to this course:

• Should have passed the two-year pre-university examination ( first attempt) Pre-university Education Board in the State of Maharashtra or any other examination considered as equivalent there to by the M.U.H.S., and have scored not less than 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (PCBE).
• Should have appeared for ASSO-CET conducted by A.M.U.P.M.D.C. / M.H.T. C.E.T. (Maharashtra).
• Should be female, and of good health and good moral character.
• Should have completed 17 years of age.
• The Candidate should have a fair knowledge of English.
• Course commences: 1st August every year, subject to change according to the result of the A.S.S.O.-C.E.T.

Student Nurses Association (S.N.A.)

• H.S.I.N.E., S.N.A. Unit aims not only to prepare a student to succeed in life & society, but also to increase their perfectibility to its utmost.
• S.N.A. works to provide opportunity for personal, intellectual, professional and social growth of its members.
• Much of this is incorporated into health information and services that are provided to the campus and community.

Faculty & Staff

Our faculties teach student nurses and other professionals in the classroom, laboratory and clinical environments utilizing the approved curriculum and visual aids.

Nursing Faculty and staff on a rotation basis sent regularly to various Workshops, Seminars and In-service programmes to update their skills and knowledge.

A total of 26 teaching staff both B.Sc. (N) and M.Sc (N) are on a regular basis involved actively with the educational programme.
