World Diabetes Day - FREE Diabetes Health Camp
Mumbai, 14 Nov, 2016: On the occasion of world diabetes day today, Holy Spirit hospital had organized a FREE Diabetes Health Camp. 80 patients had participated in the camp. Random Blood Sugar, BP Monitoring, Weight and Vision were tested.
It was followed by a lecture which was delivered by Dr. Tejas Shah- Diabetologist, Holy Spirit Hospital. He said, “Not only older adults but even children between the age group of 12 to 16 years of age are detected with Type 2 diabetes. Overweight, sedentary life style, stress, junk foods, and asian phenotype are the main reasons for this. Early detection and prevention is most important and all diabetics should b informed that it is necessary to screen their first degree relatives like children, brothers sisters, every year to get detected at the earliest”.
Dr Mihir Shah, Ophthalmologist gave tips on how to take care of vision when you are diabetic, and vision ailments related to diabetes. Dietician also gave information on Healthy diet tips for diabetics
